I am always on the lookout for a good breakfast place. I believe breakfast is a meal you can eat at any time of the day! I recently tried the Fratelli Cafe for brunch and it was fantastic!
The Fratelli Cafe is located in the heart of Melrose and offers a wide selection of dietary options, including vegetarian, vegan, diary-free, and gluten-free substitutions. Yaron Abraham founded the restaurant in 2008 on the corner of Melrose Ave and Formosa Ave. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor patio seating.
Though the restaurant has no parking of its own, I was able to find street parking nearby. It appears that many of the patrons walked from their homes nearby.
The service was friendly and the food was fresh and delicious (try the croissant breakfast sandwich!). There are many mouth-watering breakfast options I have yet to try, and the lunch menu looks just as good!

Wow, looks great! It seems like they have a great selection too, judging from the menu. All the food looks aesthetically pleasing and that’s saying something coming from a foodie like me. This just inspired me to find a breakfast place nearby for all those times I’m running low on breakfast foods. Thanks!
Well, based on your opinion, seems like it is a really expensive place, everything looks exclusive and whatnot, however, I really think itwould be worth it to eat there.
This looks like a great place! I love that they have vegetarian and vegan options as well. This would be a great place to have breakfast with friends. Thanks!
Wow! I love the modern design and mood of this cafe. The food looks absolutely sublime and seems to have fairly healthy options. Definitely going to be checking this out!
This place looks lovely! I have a lot of food allergies, and this place looks like a quaint little place that could accommodate for my allergies. Thanks for the share!
I’m so happy that this has vegan options! I’ll make sure to take a drive down to Melrose next time my kids are in town to check this out, thank you for recommending!
Some friends from LA told me about it and apparently it is really good, I will probably hit it up once I go to LA next year, hopefully it’s going to be sooner than that, but I will surely visit the place, thank you for recommending it!
Looks like a very nice restaurant with a pretty decent selection too! Can’t beat that! I love seeing reviews on small businesses like this, it helps them become more recognized and known which may help people who decide to go there for a vacation.
I’m starving after reading this article. I thought prices were a bit on the higher side, but from the pictures of the dishes, it looks worth every penny. I love the healthy options that the cafe offers and also something a little naughty to spoil yourself. Thanks for this!
I enthusiastically recommend Fratelli Cafe to anyone in earshot. The lack of parking kind of stinks, but that really can’t be helped. That, however, really is my only complaint. There’s an excellent selection for both my meat-eating friends and for my own vegan self. The food is always fresh, and the staff is amazing!
I haven’t ever eaten here but looking at the menu makes me hungry, and I just finished eating supper! I really appreciate when a restaurant offers gluten free, vegan etc. I will have to try it if I’m in the neighborhood.
I visited Calfornia several years ago and was lucky enough to have a local recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was awesome, too! I loved the variety of choices, and I’m much more comfortable eating at smaller restaurants, as opposed to large chains. I think with smaller places, a greater value is placed on customer satisfaction. So great to see a post about this gem!
Great recommendation! It looks like a great place and the food in the photos looks so delicious!
I would definitely visit this place one day!
I am not sure what’s a more pleasing prospect – the way the cafe artistically serves food or the comfortable ambience (you can already feel the vibes just by looking at the pictures). They seem to be keen on vegetable juices and sandwiches as well, so another plus. Not to mention the fact that it isn’t too pricey. That cafe is definitely worth visiting in the near future.
Anytime you can give me a menu with a section dedicated to breakfast burritos, I am betting you are giving me something I would love to have most days of the week. This looks like a really good menu, and really cool place too, and a great location. Makes me a little jealous, but glad to everyone else.
I really like the look of that stuff Enrique burrito. When they say ‘queso fresco’, I hope they mean some good Mexican white cheese.
Wow, this place looks fantastic. I also enjoy discovering new less known cafe’s and restaurant. It gives me this fantastic feeling when I do find those rare gems and then I can go eat there every week.
I love the design of their menu. It’s simple yet effective and very easy to read. I hate places that have menu’s where you can’t even figure out what they serve or its price. They also seem to have a wide variety of foods to offer.
I’d really like to try their chicken croissanwich and some Napoleon crepes, yum.
Thank you for the great suggestion!
